The BadBear Story

Every great studio has a story, but ours begins with a bear, a bad bear (obviously), who is the goodest boy!

Bear is a Caucasian Shepherd owned by one of our founders. The journey they have taken together has monumentally influenced the creation of BadBear Games.

It may sound like a cringey LinkedIn post, but through Bear's story, we discovered the true meaning of resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment – values that now form the cornerstone of our game studio philosophy.

Bear's Tale: From Diagnosis...

At just 8 months old, our furry mascot Bear was diagnosed with OCD in his shoulders and elbows. Now, we're not talking about an obsession with chasing squirrels or hoarding tennis balls – this OCD stands for Osteochondritis Dissecans. Combined with hip dysplasia, these conditions threatened to sideline our good boy permanently.

Bear, true to his (not so) fierce name, wasn't about to let this challenge keep him down. He underwent keyhole surgery, kickstarting a journey that would redefine the bounds of canine care and human dedication (read madness!).

Jump to now... Custom pillows? Check. Special cushions? You bet. A van kitted out just for him? Absolutely! Because that's how we roll at BadBear.

Through it all, Bear maintained his aloof demeanor, as if to say, 'What's the big deal? I'm just living my best life.' Little did he know, his resilience was laying the groundwork for a game studio that refuses to play by the old rules.
